Hungary’s main left wing media outlet, the former central daily of the Hungarian Socialist Workers (Communist) Party. After the régime change its owner, a foundation set up by the Socialist Party sold the majority of shares it to Berthelsmann Publishers (Germany), which gradually ceded it to Ringier (Switzerland).
