Echoes of the Kenya massacre
April 8th, 2015In the wake of the deadly attack on a Kenyan campus, a conservative commentator welcomes the government decision to join international efforts against jihadist violence. Another complains that the left-leaning Hungarian press gives scant attention to the massacre of Christian students in Kenya.
In Magyar Hírlap, Attila Szabó Palócz says the massacre was further indication of how urgent international efforts against jihadism are. He agrees with the planned Hungarian participation in the international force to be deployed in Northern Iraq to help Kurdish fighters in their struggle against the Islamic State.
On evangelikus.hu, the website of the Lutheran Church, Domonkos Schneller condemns mainstream left-wing outlets for only giving very limited space to the news of the massacre in Kenya. He thinks the main news portals are run by “radical anarchist journalists” who are opposed to the ideals of Christianity.
