Colorado disqualifies Trump from the ballot

After the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump is ineligible to run for president in that state because he was guilty of insurrection, a pro-government pundit expresses ’deep concern’ over the state of democracy in America.

In a sarcastic Mandiner comment, Mátyás Kohán believes the United States should impose on the State of Colorado all the sanctions that have hit Hungary over rule of law concerns for several years. Trump’s disqualification reminds him of practices in Russia or Belarus where opponents are thrown in jail. He suggests that the most probable opposition presidential candidate in the United States has been barred from the Colorado ballot on the basis of trumped-up charges. Perhaps Colorado should be starved into submission in order to return to democracy, he suggests, ironically.
