PM Orbán attends the Road and Belt summit in China
October 18th, 2023A pro-government columnist thinks Hungary can be a bridge between East and West.
In Magyar Nemzet, Sándor Faggyas agrees with the Prime Minister, who is attending the third summit of the Road and Belt Initiative in Beijing – alone among leaders of EU member countries. Hungary is a steadfast member of the Western world, he writes, but wants to maintain good co-operation with China. Such a stance stems from Hungary’s geostrategic position, he adds. In his concluding sentence, Faggyas remarks that ‘one doesn’t have to be a Communist to promote pragmatic and mutually advantageous relations with China’.
