Magyar Demokrata
A right wing weekly run by András Bencsik, often harshly critical of the West and Israel and therefore situated by experts to the right of the now governing Fidesz party but usually backing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s policies. After losing the elections as incumbent Prime Minister in 2002, the then opposition leader Viktor Orbán invited his supporters to start a long march towards a comeback, by buying and reading the (then) few right leaning newspapers, including Demokrata. The prime minister is often reminded by his left wing opponents of those words as proof of what they consider to be his undemocratic attitudes.
