Klubradio boss withdraws offensive comment
February 15th, 2024A pro-government columnist takes vulgar remarks by the owner of Klubradio as proof of the immorality of the entire opposition.
Commenting on the resignation of President Katalin Novák and former Justice Minister Judit Varga over the paedophile pardon case, András Arató, the founding owner of the opposition radio station wrote an article on the Klubradio website under the headline ’Replacing the whores?’ He soon changed the title to ’Replacing the furniture?’ and finally withdrew his comment altogether. In his post he quoted the old saying whereby if business is low in a brothel, it is advisable to ‘replace the whores, rather than the furniture’.
Magyar Nemzet’s Ottó Gajdics believes that Arató’s intention was to involve the Prime Minister in the scandal, as proposed by a well-known liberal pundit (see BudaPost, February 14). However, he continues, Klubradio’s boss missed his target and launched a vicious attack on the two ladies whose moral standing is irreproachable, especially in comparison to his. Gajdics calls Arató ’the chairman of the crappy radio of the dollar-Left’ and warns that Arató must ’eat a great amount of gnocchi before confronting the Prime Minister, because some three million of us are standing behind him’.
