FM ’doesn’t want to hear any more lecturing’ from the US
September 9th, 2023The nationwide pro-government daily agrees with the Foreign Minister who told newsmen on Thursday that as Donald Trump, one of the main contenders for the US Presidency is being indicted in an attempt to bar him from the presidential race, ‘from now on, we don’t want to hear the Americans talk about how democracy functions over here’.
In Magyar Nemzet, László Szőcs describes the four criminal procedures launched in the United States against former President Donald Trump as a witch-hunt. The prosecutors working on discrediting Trump, he writes, are unapologetic supporters of the Democratic Party. He compares the follow-up to a lottery scheme, as the outcome will depend on whether the judges deciding on the indictments in court happen to be Republicans or Democrats. Under such conditions, he understands why the Foreign Minister told the United States to ‘shelve their lecturing statements’ about Hungary.
