Karácsony introduces his ‘shadow cabinet’
March 13th, 2018Pro-government news outlets slam the team the left-wing candidate for Prime Minister has introduced as members of his future cabinet four weeks before the election as a ‘Soros squad’.
In Magyar Hírlap, Róbert Baranya writes that four of the seven people introduced by Gergely Karácsony, the MSZP-Párbeszéd frontrunner for the April election have been or are still involved in NGOs financed by George Soros’s foundations. He quotes a Fidesz communique which describes Mr Karácsony as someone who would dismantle the border fence built in 2015 to stop illegal mass immigration.
On Pesti Srácok, Petra Ambrus calls the seven would-be cabinet ministers ‘shadows’, because if the opposition manages to win the elections, Karácsony would have to govern with Jobbik leader Vona, DK leader Ferenc Gyurcsány and LMP leader Bernadett Szél. Those politicians in question, Ambrus claims, are mutually incompatible with each other.
